The fact is rivers can't flow uphill. The Colorado River flows through
the Grand Canyon, but it did not carve out the canyon slowly over millions of years.
Only a catastrophe could have made it. The elevation of the canyon where the river
enters is lower than the elevation of the canyon where the river leaves. A worldwide
flood would have left many unstable land dams trapping large amounts of water throughout
the region where erosion would eventually start breaking things apart. During all
of this destruction, layers of sediment were washing out and being laid down quickly
as the canyon was still forming. Left behind were perfectly preserved fossils throughout
all of the newly formed layers. The canyon was cut out in a matter of days as the
left over waters washed out and continued to rip through the newly formed mountain
ranges. At this point a gorge became a path that was suitable for a river to run
downward. This gorge in the earth's surface then began carrying water through
it which later gained the name the Colorado River and has flowed downward
since the effects of a worldwide flood created its path about 4,000 years ago.
If there was a catastrophic event today, (rain, tidal waves, earthquakes, etc.) it would rip up the mountains, and the earths surface. These layers and sediments would wash out into the valleys and oceans. The ocean levels would then rise and the entire earth would be covered by water about 2 miles deep, (A global flood). "And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth. And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters. And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered. Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered." (Genesis 7:17-20) Noah, his family, and all life aboard the ark were protected. Everything else was now drowned and buried by this massive force. All that's left are great fossil graveyards all over the earth as a testimony of God's judgement. After the flood, the assuaging (back and forth) waters carried these sediments out and reformed some of the mountain ranges we see today. It also explains how the features we see throughout the mountain ranges all over the world were caused by the flood waters and the ice age that followed it.
"Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever. Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains. At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away. They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto the place which thou hast founded for them. Thou hast set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth." (Psalm 104:5-9)
Have you ever went up into the hills where mining is in progress? We did. It was incredible what we found and what we saw! The first observation was layers of earth, rock, coal, and sandstone running horizontally, vertically, and variations in between. Now the biggest find of all was that up there in the hills between the rock layers we found fossilized trees, tree limbs, and leaves, solid rock, sand, opened and closed fresh water clam fossils, and salt water clam fossils. Remember we were a great distance from sea level in the lower Cascade Mountain Range. We also found a petrified tree ten inches in diameter running through multiple rock layers vertically. There are many different types of marine-life fossils found at the top of Mount Everest, as well. All over the world you will find fossil graveyards from what could only have been caused by a worldwide catastrophe - The Flood!
